Tuesday 4th May – A day of prayer for victims and survivors of child sexual abuse

Tuesday 4th May is a day of prayer for Victims and Survivors of Sexual Abuse. St Edmund’s will be open throughout the day for you to come in to offer your prayers before the Blessed Sacrament for those whose lives have been damaged or affected by this evil.

There will be a short prayer service at 1.00 pm. The 6.00 pm Mass will be offered for all victims of sexual abuse and after it we will pray a specially prepared Rosary of Our Lady of Sorrows using the testimony of victims.

The services and Mass will be live streamed.

All are welcome to come into the church for as long as they wish. On this occasion we will not be recording the names of those who come into the church.

Prayer for Healing and Reconciliation

Praise to you Father of our Lord Jesus Christ

the source of all consolation and hope.

Be the refuge and guardian

of all who suffer from abuse and violence.

Comfort them and send healing

for their wounds of the body,

soul and spirit.

Help us all and make us one with you

in your love for justice

as we deepen our respect for the dignity

of every human life.

Giver of peace,

make us one in celebrating your praise,

both now and forever.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
