Lent Choices

In our first reading at Mass today, Moses addresses the people of Israel, towards the end of their journey through the desert, Deuteronomy 30: 15-20. The people are offered a choice: ‘See, today I set before you life and prosperity, death and disaster.’ Part of what Lent is about is facing similar choices in our lives, which we can make by examining our consciences, looking at the way our life is going; we may even have more time to do this in the current pandemic. Much of what the world is suffering from at the moment, and indeed this country, is the result of bad moral choices. Lent offers us the chance to make a fresh start, to make some good choices.

God bless and take care
