Our last meeting at St Edmund’s Church Hall was on Thursday March 12th since when some of our volunteers and all of our guests have been shielding and most of us have been at home due to the lockdown. We have kept in touch with a monthly newsletter, phone calls and emails but felt it was time we tried to reconnect in person.
We have just had a really enjoyable picnic in Kelsey Park and it was a perfect afternoon for friends to be reunited and also for us to meet some family members of our guests too. The sun shone and we all left feeling uplifted by friendly conversation and a delicious tea. Thanks to everyone who came and to those who brought the picnic.
We hope to be able to meet in the second half of September when we have worked out the safest way to resume our Thursday afternoon Drop In. Until then we will be sustained by the knowledge that we have a wonderful group who are very committed to each other, and a big celebration to look forward to when we are back in St Edmund’s Church Hall!
