Gift Aid envelopes for use from 2 June are ready for collection from the back of the church.
Those of you who kindly donate by standing order will receive smaller packs containing envelopes for special and second collections only. People who donate electronically via ChurchSuite can also request one of these special second collection packs of envelopes – please leave your name with one of the helpers this week-end or contact the office to arrange to receive a pack.
To comply with GDPR we are unable to leave the Gift Aid boxes unattended at the back of church. If you are experiencing difficulties collecting your envelopes please contact the parish office.

A reminder that there are a number of ways in which you can support the work we do at St Edmund’s….
Weekly donations
We have recently launched online giving allowing you to donate to St Edmund’s by Direct Debit and credit/debit card. We struggle with cash collections because we receive so many coins and these have to be counted every week and then taken to the bank. Our aim is to replace as much of our weekly cash collections with electronic payments which makes it more convenient for you. If you are paying electronically then we don’t expect you to also make a contribution to the collections at our masses. However some people may feel slightly embarrassed if they are seen not to contribute. To overcome this we have created donor cards which you will find at the back of the church. Pick one up as you go into mass and pop it in the collection basket. We retrieve these cards and recycle for subsequent masses.
One-off donations
St Edmund’s runs a number of fundraisers for specific causes. You can make a one-off donation to these appeals, paying by credit or debit card. Specify the amount in the form when youclick on the Donate button below.
Make a pledge or bequest to St Edmund’s
If you would like to make a bequest or a large gift to St Edmund’s we will ensure your donation will be put to good use in the parish. Regular bequests transform our finances and allow us to invest in the church infrastructure and facilities. Please contact the parish office on 020 8650 0970 or by email if you would like us to explain how the process works.
GiftAid
If you are a UK taxpayer then we can reclaim on tax you pay for any donation you make. For example if you are a standard rate tax payer and donate £1 then St Edmund’s would receive a further 25p from HMRC. It does not cost you any more but you do have to be a UK taxpayer and must have signed a GiftAid declaration. With our online giving we make this process as convenient as possible and you just have to tick the box on the donate page.
If you pay tax at the higher or additional rate, you can claim the difference between the rate you pay and basic rate on your donation. Do this either:
- through your Self Assessment tax return
- by asking HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to amend your tax code
Example You donate £100 to St Edmund’s – we claim Gift Aid to make your donation £125. You pay 40% tax so you can personally claim back £25.00 (£125 x 20%).
How do I donate?
If you are a parishioner and you already use ChurchSuite then you can make and manage your donations via the website or App. However, if you are not registered for ChurchSuite and would like to register then go HERE.
If you do not wish to register for ChurchSuite then you can still set up a repeat donation or make a one-off gift. Start by clicking on the button below – it will take no more than a few minutes.
