All our welcome to our Christmas Day Masses, as detailed on our home page. Owing to the exceptional number of people normally attending our Christmas Vigil Mass at 6pm and Midnight Mass, it will be possible to administer Holy Communion only under the form of the host; the chalice will not be available to the congregation. The fullness of Christ, body and blood, soul and divinity, is received under either kind.
The offerings from all Christmas Masses are your personal gift to our priests and are separate from any standing order or regular giving you may have set up. Gift Aid can be claimed on these Christmas offerings but is retained by the parish itself – the priests do not benefit from this element.
As the Christmas collection is always so generous we do urge our Gift Aid donors to ensure their offering is given in an envelope showing their Gift Aid number or their name and address on the outside. Christmas offerings can also be made online here on our website: click here (check that ‘Christmas Offering for Priests’ is selected from the dropdown menu and continue by following the on-screen prompts).
Thank you for your generosity to our priests at Christmas and Easter and to our parish throughout the year.
Please visit our Christmas Crib. All the money raised will go to support the local Catholic Children’s Society Crisis Fund which provides one-off emergency grants to support children and families who are experiencing a crisis in their lives. (Place you donations in the box in the wall on the left of the doors near where the crib is).
Thank you to all those who have worked so hard to prepare our Church for Christmas. Much work goes on behind the scenes and often I do not see the workers to thank them for their efforts. Thank you too to the ‘front of house’. Our MC’s and altar servers, choirs and musicians, readers and Extraordinary Ministers of Communion, crowd control, sacristans, brass cleaners and flower team. We are truly blessed by those who give their time so generously.
