Getting Organised For Christmas

As we are now in Advent and the weeks will go very fast we would like to get some things organised early:

Altar servers – please indicate on the sheets in the Sacristy your availability to serve at a Christmas Mass.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist and Readers – please indicate your availability to participate at a specific Mass. (At the back of the Church near the Statue of the Sacred Heart there are sheets for the various Masses).

Rosemary Ekong on 07956 109465 or email  is arranging the readers for the Christmas Vigil and Midnight Mass in the church. Several readers will be needed for this so please get in touch with Rosemary now.

In St Edmund’s itself their are three things which you might like to attend as part of your Christmas preparation:

Advent Reconciliation Service which is on Saturday 9th at 4pm. This year we do not have a visiting speaker but instead Fr Steve will be leading the service.

The following afternoon, Sunday 10th at 3pm in the Church, the Children’s Liturgy Group will be holding the Children’s Advent Service. This is the chance to bring your young children to a service tailored just for them, with a few readings and simple carols, followed by refreshments in the Hall.

And finally the Parish Carol Service on Saturday 16th at 7pm. This is a really lovely mixture of songs and carols and poems and readings put together by all our choirs and once again rounded off by mulled wine and mince pies in the Hall.

Do try and get to at least one of them.
