Joe Biden becomes the second Catholic President of the USA

I expect many of you watched the inauguration this afternoon. The prayer led early in the ceremony by the Jesuit priest who in the past was President of Georgetown University (a Jesuit university) was very moving; he quoted Pope Francis’ recent encyclical ‘Fratelli Tutti’, which we will be looking at as a parish during Lent; and then President Biden, in his address, quoted St Augustine. He and his wife are committed and practising Catholics. Please pray for them, for the Vice President, and for the people of the USA today.
God bless
Fr Ashley
