We have received an urgent request from the Living Well Foodbank. Supplies are very low. Each week they provide 160 bags of food to people in Penge and surrounding areas. They urgently need donations of tinned goods: tinned meat, baked beans, soups, tinned vegetables (carrots, sweetcorn, mixed veg), tinned fruit, UHT milk, instant mashed potatoes, rice and packets of microwaveable rice. Also needed are toilet rolls and toiletries – men’s shower gel and deodorants, shaving foam etc. (Please nothing containing alcohol).
At the moment they do not need teabags, pasta, pulses, tinned fish, soap or toothpaste.
The Foodbank is open on Tuesdays (3pm – 4pm), Fridays (1pm – 3pm) and Saturdays (11am – 12noon) when donations can be dropped off at HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, 66 LENNARD ROAD, SE20 7LX. If you are unable to get there please leave items at the back of the church.
The Foodbank also needs help with local food collections. Help is required on a Thursday evening at about 7.30pm to collect food donations from local shops and take the donations to the church. It is intended that volunteers will form part of a rota so that the commitment will be once a month. If you can help please email Mary Elliot or call her on 0744 6952 849.
Thank you.
