Last month the children from year 3 in St Mary’s Primary School spent a day watching the out-door production of the Life of Christ at the Wintershall Estate near Guildford in Surrey. This play has become well known in recent years: the life of Jesus is enacted throughout the whole day in various parts of the estate, involving a large number of actors and school children, and watched by a mixture of adults and children. It is a very powerful presentation of the events described in the gospels.
In the picture above Jesus is shown teaching the crowds from the shore, and in the lower picture you can see some of the children watching another scene. It was very moving and a good way for children to enter into the drama of the life of Christ.
