The SVP’s aim is to tackle poverty in all its forms through the provision of practical assistance to those in need. In Beckenham, we are geared towards alleviating loneliness with befriending.
However, there has recently been an increase in people approaching us with more complex needs, potentially exacerbated by the pandemic. As volunteers, we are not equipped to deal with this directly.
How can we nevertheless try to help? By unlocking the potential in the community – there’s lots of support bubbling away under the surface in Beckenham and beyond. To that end, we’ve compiled a list of organisations that can help with the common issues that we observe.
Website notes / caveats:
- This list is geared towards local organisations where possible. Non-local organisations are listed as well where applicable / necessary.
- We regrettably can’t promise that all information will be kept up to date. It was correct as of December 2021.
If you spot any mistakes or have any suggestions for organisations that should be listed here, please email presidenta190202@svp.org.uk
