Are you a new member of the St Edmund’s Parish community looking for a warm welcome and to meet new people?
Or you might be a St Edmund’s parishioner of many years wishing to learn more about the spiritual, social, musical and other activities within our Parish?
Then why not come along to the St Edmund’s Parish Open Day event on Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 September?
One of the common themes identified in the recent questionnaire which parishioners were invited to fill out as part of the ongoing Synod, was a wish for a greater understanding and awareness of the groups, activities and events within our Parish. Upon joining the Parish social committee, newly created in the Synodal restructuring, even as a parishioner of thirty years, my eyes were truly opened to how blessed we are to have such a vibrant Parish here in Beckenham. We have numerous choirs, prayer and spiritual groups, support groups, sacramental preparation groups, charitable organisations, Catholic societies and more.
The Parish Open Day, in two weeks’ time, is an opportunity for our choirs, groups and societies to showcase what they are all about and to provide information for you. There is no pressure to commit to ‘signing up’ to anything at the Open Day event, the intention of the event is for parishioners to have the opportunity to wander around the Church Hall to see what is on offer, to ‘put faces to names’ and meet representatives from across the Parish, whilst taking some refreshments.
So please do pop across the road to the Church Hall to join us at the Parish Open Day which will take place on Saturday 16 September after the 6pm Mass and on Sunday 17 September after the 8am, 9.30am and 11am Masses.
I look forward to seeing you all,
Margaret Kelleher
