Lifting of Covid Restrictions in Church

We are pleased to be able to announce that some restrictions on worship in church have been lifted now in St Edmund’s. The first is that although Holy Communion from the chalice for laypeople has not yet been restored by the bishops we will now be giving Holy Communion from the places customarily used before 2020 in front of the sanctuary, and not from behind reversed kneeling desks. On Sundays this means that there will be four points where Sacred Hosts are given, and one or two on weekdays. It remains the policy of the bishops that those who received the Host on the tongue are asked to come at the back of the queue.

Also, we are no longer requiring you to wear masks in church, although you are welcome to do so if you wish. There will still be sanitising liquid available and we encourage you to use this when you enter the building (along with Holy Water).

 God bless

Father Ashley
