St Wulstan of Worcester, the last Anglo Saxon Saint

Today (Tuesday) is the feast of St Wulstan of Worcester, the last Anglo Saxon saint. He was the only Anglo Saxon member of the hierarchy who was allowed to continue in office for any significant time after the Normal Conquest in 1066, until his death in 1095, renowned for his personal holiness and humility.
Yesterday we began the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity – the heritage of the great saints of Anglo Saxon England should give us inspiration in our work to strengthen common Christian witness in this country in these challenging times.
God bless and take care
Father Ashley
