This Sunday is Peace Sunday, when the Church in England and Wales observes the World Day of Prayer for Peace kept elsewhere on New Year’s Day. Normally in our parish we have a second collection for the organisation so please make a donation for their important work through the website.
Each year the pope issues a special message for the day of prayer and the Holy Father’s message for this year can be found HERE.
Last week the Catholic Bishops Conference issued a statement on the on the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons reiterating earlier calls for this country to abandon nuclear weapons, which you can find HERE.
