Public Worship & Plenary Indulgence in November

This Sunday is All Saints Day. Public Masses at the usual time.

This is a statement about the likely closure of churches from Cardinal Nichols and the Archbishop of Liverpool, on behalf the Bishops Conference: click here.

Here in this diocese Archbishop Wilson is encouraging us to write to our MPs (in this parish, depending on where you live, Bob Stewart or Ellie Reeves) asking them to seek the evidence from the government for the decision to stop public worship. Details of how to contact them can be found on the House of Commons website.

In the month of the Holy Souls some of you are accustomed to gaining the plenary indulgence for the Holy Souls – often this is done by visiting a cemetery and saying prayers. Because of the pandemic special regulations have been published by the Holy See’s Apostolic Penitentiary: click here.

God bless and take care
