This Sunday’s gospel reading is Matthew’s account of the miracle of the Feeding of the Five Thousand (14:13-21). This manifestation of God’s generous love points forward to the Eucharist: this year we are able to reflect about this in a new way, as many have been deprived of the chance to be at Mass and receive Holy Communion, and many are still in this position. Jesus is responding to human hunger: many have hungered this year for the Bread of Life.
Because of holidays posts on this page will be rather limited for the next couple of weeks. I hope you manage to have some sort of break. As indicated on the parish newsletter this weekend the office will be reopening from Monday, though not yet for personal callers.
