Social justice, love and humility before God

Thank you for the many good wishes I received yesterday. Remember that from this week the morning Mass is back to the usual time of 10am and the 6pm Mass every day is open to worshippers.

We’re hearing at Mass from the fourth of the great prophets of the 8th century BCE – Micah. The well known passage shown here was read at Mass yesterday. I remember it will affection (almost) because it was set as a passage to comment on in my Old Testament exam at university back in 1984. It sums up so much of the message of the other three 8th century prophets – Amos, Hosea and Isaiah (there are common passages in Micah and Isaiah): social justice, love and humility before God. A timeless message but particularly important during this pandemic.

God bless and take care
