This week sees the last few days of school for most of our young parishioners, with many already being on holiday. Our thanks and prayers must go to all those who work in our two parish schools for everything they do for our children. We thank the teaching staff and assistants, cleaners, cooks, dinner ladies, caretakers and volunteers who give so much throughout the school year. We wish them all a restful break.
To all of you who will be travelling on holiday we pray that you have a safe and comfortable journey, a happy and harmonious break and a safe return.
If you are holidaying in England or Wales you can find the mass times local to you by going online HERE. Please remember that many of these parishes in rural areas rely on visitors offerings during the summer to keep their churches open through the year.
Items for the newsletter during the summer are rather scarce as people take a break and activities slow down and even stop. We have decided that from next weekend we will put out a fortnightly A4 double sided bulletin with the back page as it normally is and the front page carrying any news items. Normal practice will resume on the first week in September.
Lord God,
We put ourselves into Your hands,
and pray that You will bless us and our families
during the wonderful months of summer.
May we all help make our home a place of
relaxation, joy, love, peace and safety.
May we be generous and considerate,
not thinking only about ourselves, but
helping others enjoy the blessings of
summertime.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen
