Last weekend saw our final two first holy communion masses. Coming the week after almost forty children in our Catechism Group made theirs, the two masses saw forty-seven children from St Edmunds who attend St Mary’s School receive holy communion for the first time. It was also the first time that St Mary’s children, in line with diocesan guidelines, were prepared by parish catechists and not by the school. Thank you to the catechists who gave up their time to do this and to all the others who helped to make both masses so special for the children and their families. Below is a picture showing how the Hall was transformed for the communion breakfast.
