Getting to St Edmunds

By Car

If you are travelling by car there is a multi-storey car park immediately behind St Edmund’s church located above Sainsbury’s. To access the car park pass the church on your right and take the up ramp. The car park is pay and display. Traffic wardens are very active in the area so you are strongly advised to ensure you are aware of the parking restrictions and charges. Parking charges apply 7.30am to 7.30pm, Monday to Saturday, with free parking on Sundays.

There is not much on-street parking near the church and many of the parking bays on Village way are Resident permit only.

By Bus

The 367 bus (from Bromley and Croydon stops outside St Edmund’s). The 227 runs from Crystal Palace to Bromley (get off at the Wimpy in Beckenham High Street). The 54 and the 354 also serve Beckenham.

By Train

The closest railway station to St Edmunds is Beckenham Junction which is on the main line from Victoria to Bromley South. There are also trains from London Bridge. It is a 10 minute walk from the Station. Leave via the main exit, cross the road and walk down The Drive. Beckenham High street is the T-junction at the end of the Drive. Cross the road and Village Way is slightly to your left.

Beckenham Junction is also served by the Tram service from East Croydon.

There are regular services from Charing Cross to Clock House station which is a 15 minute walk from St Edmund’s (or take the 227 bus outside Clock House and get off at Beckenham High Street (near the Wimpy).

By Air

If you are travelling from afar then you are probably going to arrive in London via Heathrow or Gatwick airport.

From Gatwick take a train to East Croydon and take the Tram to Beckenham Junction (total journey time 1 hour)

From Heathrow, take either the Heathrow Express to Paddington and make your way by Circle line tube to Victoria; Or, take the tube to Victoria and the overland rail to Beckenham Junction (total Journey time 2 hours).
