This Sunday’s emergency second collection is part of the SVP’s national appeal to raise funds to assist the stricken people of Kerala. Located on the southern Indian coast, Kerala is the most Christian area in India and the SVP is very strong there. Our parish SVP is twinned with St Joseph’s, Vengoor SVP which being by the coast has been devasted but appeal proceeds will help the entire region.
The SVP has been on the forefront of offering assistance and practical help to those affected by the flooding but needs more funds to continue this work.
