This is to allow\u00a0sufficient time for them to attend the obligatory Marriage\u00a0Preparation Course and also for the clergy to complete\u00a0the necessary paperwork. Our clergy would prefer to be\u00a0given a year to complete the paperwork and suggest that\u00a0couples do not set a date for their wedding until they\u00a0have spoken to a priest or deacon.<\/p>\n Once you have decided to get married please email the\u00a0 Parish Office with your names and an address and we\u00a0will send you a preliminary marriage application form plus\u00a0an enrolment form for the Marriage Preparation Course.<\/p>\n If you intend to get married at a church other than\u00a0St. Edmund\u2019s our clergy are still responsible for all the\u00a0paperwork. As a growing number of our parishioners\u00a0were born outside the UK we will need to obtain\u00a0documentation from their previous parishes. This can\u00a0take some considerable time. There is also extra work to\u00a0be completed for those who are having their ceremony\u00a0abroad or for those who have had a previous marriage.<\/p>\n So, in short, as soon as you decide to get married,\u00a0please start the ball rolling by contacting the Parish\u00a0<\/em>Office.<\/em><\/p>\n Do you feel alone?
