However some people may feel slightly embarrassed if they\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-800 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/saintedmunds.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/donor-card-300x195.jpg\"  sizes=\"(max-width: 235px) 100vw, 235px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/saintedmunds.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/donor-card-300x195.jpg 300w, http:\/\/saintedmunds.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/donor-card.jpg 674w\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"153\" \/>are seen not to contribute. To overcome this we have created donor cards (see right)\u00a0which you will find at the back of the church. Pick one up as you go into mass and pop it in the collection basket. We retrieve these cards and recycle for subsequent masses.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>One-off donations<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>St Edmund\u2019s runs a number of fundraisers for specific causes. You can make a one-off donation to these appeals, paying by credit or debit card. Regular bequests transform our finances and allow us to invest in the church infrastructure and facilities. Please contact the parish office on 020 8650 0970 or email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:stedmundsparish@btconnect.com\">stedmundsparish@btconnect.com\u00a0<\/a>if you would like us to explain how the process works.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>GiftAid<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you are a UK taxpayer then we\u00a0can reclaim on tax you pay for any donation you make. For example if you are a standard rate tax payer and donate \u00a31 then St Edmund\u2019s would receive a further 25p from HMRC. It does not cost you any more\u00a0but you do have to be a UK taxpayer and must have\u00a0signed a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/saintedmunds.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/GAD-Beckenham-BM-Oct-2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GiftAid declaration<\/a>. With our online giving we make this process as convenient as possible and you just have to tick\u00a0the box on the donate page.<\/p>\n<p>If you pay tax at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/income-tax-rates\/income-tax-rates\">higher or additional rate<\/a>, you can claim the difference between the rate you pay and basic rate on your donation. Do this either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>through your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/self-assessment-tax-returns\">Self Assessment tax return<\/a><\/li>\n<li>by asking HM Revenue and Customs (<abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr>) to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/reporting-your-tax-code-as-wrong\">amend your tax code<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Example<\/strong>\u00a0You donate \u00a3100 to\u00a0St Edmund\u2019s\u00a0\u2013 we claim Gift Aid to make your donation \u00a3125.
