This is to allow sufficient\u00a0time for them to attend the obligatory Marriage\u00a0Preparation Course and also for the clergy to complete\u00a0the necessary paperwork. Our priests would prefer to be\u00a0given a year to complete the paperwork and suggest that\u00a0couples do not set a date for their wedding until they have\u00a0spoken to a priest.\u00a0Once you have decided to get married please email the\u00a0Parish Office with your names and address and a\u00a0preliminary marriage application form will be sent to you\u00a0plus an enrolment form for the Marriage Preparation\u00a0Course.<\/p>\n<p>If you intend to get married at a church other than\u00a0St Edmund\u2019s our clergy are still responsible for all the\u00a0paperwork. As a growing number of our parishioners\u00a0were born outside the UK we will need to obtain\u00a0documentation from their previous parishes. This can\u00a0take some considerable time.
